Description[]
The Competento website (www.competento.be) is a virtual knowledge centre opening up, valorising and disseminating existing initiatives, materials, tools and methodologies concerning the transfer of entrepreneurial competences, especially in the context of education and training.
An important target group of the knowledge centre are teachers at all levels, but also other actors involved in labour market counselling or guidance.
Justification/aim[]
Historically, Flanders has a low entrepreneurial rate and different initiatives to increase the number of successful entrepreneurs have been rather fragmented. Competento bundles existing initiatives of the Flemish government for training and education suppliers into one site to improve the coherence of the supply of entrepreneurial training.
Competento tries to bring pupils, students and course members in contact with entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial spirit in the broadest sense via the education system.
